My love of dogs started when I was four years old, when an adorable gold & white cocker spaniel, came into my life.

I remember watching him for hours and marvelling at his ability to communicate with his human family and dog friends. That’s what started my fascination with dogs - how they learn and their body language.

I have two dogs of my own – a gorgeous black Labrador and a rescue from Romania. This little rescue dog has been with me for seven years now and is a constant joy, challenge and source of learning. But most importantly we have a lot of fun!

Following a career in marketing raising a family, I began my formal training with Sarah Whitehead’s Clever Dog Company.

Sarah Whitehead BA(Hons), MSc is a world renowned international lecturer, best selling author and pet behaviour counsellor.

I am very proud to be one of her first, hand-picked Clever Dog Company Method Training Licensees.

I am a member of Sarah’s Inner Circle - The UK’s first and only online CPD platform bringing together and supporting trainers, behaviourists and canine professionals. I also attend regular seminars, workshops and webinars from other specialists in their field. This all ensures my learning keeps pace with the science behind how dogs learn.

I am a proud member of the Professional Pet Guild, British Isles

My Training Policy

My training is based on the kindest, most effective, non-punitive methods.

I carefully design and structure my training programmes to be the best they can for dog and owner.

These policies are written in the interest of safety, responsibility and care for owners and dogs in accordance with the Professional Pet Guild, British Isles.

  1. Harsh handling is not permitted. We have a complete ban on choke chains and other coercive or punitive techniques, in accordance with the APDT Code of Practice.

  2. Owners are expected to clean up after their dogs when in public places. All dogs must be kept under control and on leash in public areas, (off leash only where specifically instructed by your instructor.) We are there to help but you are responsible for the conduct of your dog at all times.

  3. Refunds cannot be given after your Programme has started, except in exceptional circumstances - as decided by your Instructor. Transfers to other parties or to other programmes are not permitted. Chantal cannot accept responsibility for loss, injury or damage to person or property.

  4. Children are very welcome to attend the training sessions - indeed they are often the best handlers! However, for the sake of safety and consistency in training, young people under the age of 16 must be with an adult at all times. Children who make a lot of noise or dash about can teach dogs to chase children! Parents might wish to sit down with their children before their training session to explain how important it is for them to listen and be involved.

  5. Please let us know if your dog is not in a fit state to train due to disease, injury or any other reason. All dogs should be wormed and fully protected by vaccination as advised by their Vet.

  6. Payment is required on or before your first session. Payment can be made via BACS or cash prior or on your session.

  7. Cancellation Policy per session (once course has commenced): I hope you won't have to cancel. However, if you are unable to make an appointment please let Chantal know as soon as possible so that we can perhaps fill the slot and reschedule, otherwise anything under 48 hours notice will be charged at full rate and that session will be lost from the remainder of your course.

  8. No refunds will be given once your course has started.
